Docent Peder Rasmusen, professor Torsten Norlander

Sedan 2006 har vi kontinuerligt utvärderat metoden Retraining for Balance tillsammans med docent Peder Rasmusen, Drottning Silvias barnsjukhus och Sahlgrenska  Akademin i Göteborg och anknuten till Centrum för sensomotorisk forskning, Vestibularis Clinic, Kalmar, och professor Torsten Norlander, anknuten till Institutionen för klinisk neurovetenskap, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Centrum för sensomotorisk forskning, Vestibularis Clinic, Kalmar och verksam vid Evidens Research and Development Center, Göteborg.
Arbetet har hittills resulterat i sex publicerade artiklar och en doktorsavhandling. Kort efter Mats disputation insjuknade Torsten i en obotlig sjukdom och avled i december 2020 efter att ha utkämpat en heroisk kamp mot sin inre fiende. Torsten ville att vårt arbete skulle gå vidare. I Torstens anda har Mats, Irene och Peder fortsatt forskningsarbetet och i januari 2022 kunde vi publicera ännu en artikel. Förutom sin roll som medförfattare är Peder Rasmussen också Vestibularis rådgivare i medicinska frågor.
Sedan 2021 har Mats förnyad kontakt med Professor Jerome Carson vid Bolton University, England. Jerome var Mats ’Director of Studies’ under den senare delen av doktorandstudierna. Den återvunna kontakten kommer att bredda Vestibularis intresseområde inom framför allt ämnet ’Mental Health’. Sedan augusti 2022 har samarbetet fördjupats ytterligare i och med att Mats fått en position som Visiting Research Fellow vid the School of Education and Psychology vid Bolton University.
Mats är sedan 2017 ’Associate Editor’ för journalen ’Perceptual and Motor Skills’ och kommer från och med våren 2022 att vara medlem av ’the Editorial Board’ för journalen ’Mental Health and Social Inclusion’. Under hösten och vintern 2022 har det blivit klart att Mats också kommer att ingå i the Editorial Board för journalerna OBM Integrative and Complementary Medicine, OBM Geriatrics and Neurodiversity.
